From water bottles to food packaging, toys to electronics—plastic is everywhere. It’s woven into the modern world so deeply that most of us use it without thinking. But behind the convenience lies a devastating truth: plastic waste is choking our planet.

In wealthier countries, recycling systems exist, though they are far from perfect. But in many parts of the world, there are no bins, no collection systems, and no waste management at all. For generations, people have had little choice but to discard rubbish into rivers, streams, and fields, where it eventually gets washed out to sea.

What Happens When Plastic Reaches the Ocean

Once plastic enters rivers and oceans, it becomes a silent destroyer of marine life.
• Sea turtles mistake plastic bags for jellyfish
• Fish ingest microplastics, poisoning the very food chain we rely on
• Coral reefs suffocate under the weight of plastic waste

The companies that produce plastic often shift responsibility onto consumers, urging us to recycle. But recycling on its own is not enough. The truth is that plastic production keeps rising, while recycling remains unprofitable and underfunded.

What Ocean Integrity Does

At Ocean Integrity, we work tirelessly—often with volunteers and local communities—to recover plastic from rivers and oceans around the world.

The collected plastic is:
• Recycled into virgin pellets, which can be used to manufacture new products like furniture and construction materials
• Logged and certified on the Blockchain, ensuring transparency and traceability
• Converted into plastic credits, which in turn can be used as carbon credits to help companies offset their footprints, even though prices remain low

This work is time-consuming, labor-intensive, and very expensive. Yet, it is vital. Every kilogram we remove is a step toward saving marine ecosystems and restoring balance to our oceans.

Why We Need Support

Ocean Integrity is proud of its integrity and transparency. We have built a team of innovators, engineers, and community leaders who create solutions that not only clean up plastic but also support vulnerable communities.

Still, the challenge is enormous: millions of tons of plastic enter our oceans every single year. Without stronger support from the public, corporations, and donors, the scale of the crisis will continue to grow.

We share our work openly. Our new YouTube channel showcases videos of our cleanup efforts, giving the public a clear window into the impact we’re making. But awareness alone is not enough—we need real participation.

Clean the Ocean With Every Transaction

To meet this challenge, we’ve developed one of the most exciting initiatives in the fight against plastic: Clean the Ocean With Every Transaction.

Here’s how it works:
• A coffee shop adds just a few cents to each cup of coffee
• A customer buys their coffee and scans a QR code
• They walk away knowing they have helped retrieve plastic from the ocean

The same model applies to airlines, sports venues, and shipping companies. Imagine 40,000 fans at a stadium each contributing the equivalent of one dollar—that’s millions of plastic bottles removed from the ocean in a single game.

This isn’t just about plastic. It’s about empowering poor communities. The fishermen and workers who help collect plastic are paid fairly, giving them the chance to improve their homes, support their families, and send their children to school.

The Volumes We’re Facing

Every day, it’s estimated that 18 million pieces of plastic find their way into the oceans. Over a year, that’s more than 22 million tons of plastic waste choking our seas. Without decisive action, by 2050 there could be more plastic in the ocean than fish by weight.

Ocean Integrity refuses to call this a losing battle. But we know it’s a battle that can only be won if millions of people, businesses, and organizations join together.
