Why Ocean Integrity Exists

The Movement to Save Our Oceans: Why Ocean Integrity Exists

By Frederick Christopher – Development Advisor, Ocean Integrity

The biggest problem facing our planet today is one we have all created: plastic.
Plastic is everywhere, woven into every aspect of our daily lives. While some of it is recycled, millions of tons a day still make their way into rivers and, eventually, the ocean.

But whose responsibility is it to clean this up? Plastic manufacturers? Governments? Consumers? The truth is that responsibility has been shifted onto us, the public, while the corporations that profit avoid accountability.

That’s why Ocean Integrity exists.

A Vision with Integrity

Ocean Integrity was founded eight years ago by Captain Kieran Kelly, a visionary leader who has invested millions of his own money into tackling plastic pollution. Over the years, he has received awards for his integrity and innovation, though much of his work has remained out of the spotlight, until now.

Kieran recognized the dangers of greenwashing: when organizations claim to collect and recycle ocean plastic without transparency or proof. Ocean Integrity does things differently. Every kilogram of plastic collected is geo-tagged, photographed, logged, traced, and verified, and then stored permanently on the Blockchain, making the data tamper-proof.

That’s why when Ocean Integrity says we’ve collected 1.9 billion kilograms of plastic over the past eight years, you can trust it’s real and see it on blockchain.

Empowering Fishermen and Communities

Kieran also saw an opportunity to empower the world’s fishermen. Many work 12–14 hours a day for very little reward. By paying them directly to collect ocean plastic, Ocean Integrity gives them a reliable secondary income.

Today, hundreds, if not thousands of fishermen worldwide are part of this movement. Their work is life-changing: families are earning more, improving their homes, accessing healthcare, and even sending their children to university.

At the same time, Ocean Integrity’s recycling and sorting centers in Indonesia employ hundreds of local workers, creating a ripple effect of social and economic benefits.

Innovation for Marine Restoration

Plastic collection is only part of our mission. Ocean Integrity is also investing heavily in innovation and restoration.
• The NP System – patented technology that stretches across rivers, capturing plastic (even microplastics) before they reach the ocean.
• The Aquafarm Disruptor – a breakthrough system developed over 19 years of research. By pulling cold, nutrient-rich water from the ocean depths to the surface, it helps restore coral reefs, revive marine life, and rebalance ecosystems. Ocean Integrity will begin deployment in 2026.

These technologies represent some of the most eco-friendly and impactful marine solutions ever engineered.

A Global Movement: Clean the Ocean with Every Transaction

Collecting and recycling plastic isn’t profitable, it’s hard, expensive work. Ocean Integrity survives through donations and bold new ideas.

That’s why we created the Clean the Ocean with Every Transaction movement. Here’s how it works:
• Coffee Shops: Add just 10 cents to a cup of coffee. The customer scans a QR code and sees proof on the Blockchain that their purchase removed the equivalent of 5.4 plastic bottles from the ocean.
• Sports Venues: Imagine 40,000 football fans each contributing $1. That’s the equivalent of 2.1 million plastic bottles removed in a single game.
• Shipping & Airlines: Adding $10 to each container on a cargo ship, or $1 to every flight ticket, offsets plastic and carbon footprints, providing companies with verifiable carbon credits.

This system turns everyday transactions into a powerful funding engine for cleaning our oceans.

The Future of Ocean Integrity

Today, Ocean Integrity is more than just a plastic recovery company. We are:
• A global recycler, active in 58 countries.
• A Web3 innovator, using Blockchain to guarantee traceability.
• A verification partner Plastiks.io & Ecota.io, ensuring transparency across the recycling industry.
• Soon, Partners of the issuer of an ESG token, giving businesses and individuals new ways to support impact projects.

We are here to make a difference. We are here to restore coral reefs, protect marine life, and remove plastic from the ocean, and we can only do it with your support.

Our Global Team

Our Global Team
At Ocean Integrity, our strength comes from the people behind the mission. Our global team brings together experts in sustainability, plastic recycling, advanced engineering, artificial intelligence, Web3, and blockchain, united by a shared passion for protecting the environment.

This diverse group of innovators and changemakers represents a total revamp of Ocean Integrity, driving us to new heights. With world-class talent and fresh energy, we are building scalable solutions and creating real impact for our oceans and rivers.

Together, we are more than a team. We are a movement for the future of our planet

Over the last eight years, Ocean Integrity has been built on the vision and determination of our founder, Captain Kieran Kelly. His dedication has guided the company from small beginnings into the world’s largest movement focused on removing plastic from rivers and oceans. Now, it’s time for the world to see the scale of the work achieved, the technologies invented, and the impact created.

Among these innovations are the AquaTherm Disruptor and the M-PED system, both designed and pioneered by Captain Kelly. The Disruptor, developed over 19 years of research and engineering, now holds patent-pending status and is scheduled for deployment in 2026. These breakthroughs, alongside other patented and patent-pending solutions, represent a new era of environmental technology with the power to intercept plastic at its source and protect our oceans for generations to come.

Beyond technology, Ocean Integrity creates meaningful opportunities where they are needed most. Our operations generate jobs in some of the poorest regions of the world, turning local challenges into global solutions. With our expanded global team of innovators, technologists, and environmental leaders, we are ready to take Ocean Integrity to the next level, scaling our impact and leading a worldwide movement for change.
